How can we improve semantics and simplify the theme? This isn’t about squashing bugs. This is about making something good even better.

The past week has seen the Sandbox go through rapid development—now version 0.6.1 is available for download. The irony is that I’m creating a fun, accessible tool for theme development but haven’t had a chance to really play with it myself. Soon, I hope.

The Sandbox was the first theme to be initially launched on WordPress.com. Now, WordPress.org users get a first stab at Sandbox version 0.6.1. Don’t worry, WordPress.com users, because you’re not forgotten. I just think Andy’s really busy.
The Sandbox now works with PHP 5 and with WordPress versions prior to 2.0.3. We’re developing documentation for the Sandbox. And you can also expect a repository for Sandbox skins.
The Sandbox is available on WordPress.com. Pretty slick. Has any other theme seen its first release there? Not sure. But don’t worry. Everyone else is going to get their hands gritty in the Sandbox real soon.
