[...] In monkeying around with the presentation layer of my various web sites I followed the same course. Well, almost. For both eldapo and this site I’ve modified the Blog.txt theme slightly to reduce the size of text with the <code> and <pre> tags (where the setting for font size/line height used to be ‘1em/133%’ I now have it at ‘.085em/120%’. Otherwise, I’ve pretty much returned everything to the theme’s defaults. Maybe Scott Allan Wallick (the author of the Blog.txt theme) knows what he’s doing after all.
[...] Scott (who ran the SDC magnificently) has posted a list of his top picks from the competition and brief summaries of why he picked each design. Will’s design tastes are also just after my own. I love most everything about this design, but especially I love his post layout. I think it’s really clean and open. I also think Will did excellent at integrating certain, choice Sandbox classes. The details are subtle but enhance the design. Thumbs up. [...]

[...] I’m the first runner-up in The Sandbox Designs Competition with my entry, Essay! Two judges even had me pegged for first place! Wow! As you may recall, part of my impetus for blogging was to learn something about web design (I’m a graphic artist in the real world) so I’m just absolutely thrilled. There were a lot of original and creative submissions and I’m honored just to be included among them. Many thanks to the judges — all of whom I have a ton of respect for — and the awesome Scott Wallick, co-designer of the Sandbox theme and organizer of the competition. [...]
