Playing in the Sandbox

I really agree with Andy’s observation that this theme is really wonderful for CSS artists—ahem, er, designers. I mean, Andy made it look like Kubrick. And this afternoon I did the same with Classic. (Classic, by the way, really should be retired. It’s dated and awful now.) Read Andy’s post. And tingle.
I had a first revision, then Andy’s (and, oh my, that was quite the revision), and back to me. I’ve added another class function and piddled around here and there. I’m getting together a readme.html so we can all see how these semantic classes work, where they are, etc.
Stay tuned. It’s going to be a fantastic reference, tool, toy, distraction, and so on.

And after reading Chris’s comment on Andy’s post, I’ve implmented the hAtom schema.
It’ll really be fun to make themes for, to skin, the Sandbox. But that’s only part of the Sandbox’s purpose.
I learned heaps from this project, and maybe others can as well. That’s all. I doubt it’ll satiate those complaining of the “slow-down.”

which is a shame. this should be a pretty significant advance as far as themes go, but i think the naysayers have gone too far to consider reversing their position.

Well. Let’s see. The Sandbox might not solve every themer’s problem, but it will (and I think this is great) give newer themers a great place to get their feet wet, and, at least, have excellent markup to learn from.
